Although sitting is my least favorite thing, this conference was one of the best things that I could have done. I learned so much about storytelling and photography. I met amazing people and got their opinion on things that I would have never thought of. The days were packed from 9 AM until 5 PM with lectures, workshops, and portfolio reviews. Like all conferences it was a time to gain knowledge and get excited about what we were doing and the difference that photojournalist can make in a community. For me it was just what I needed. Not only were the portfolio reviews helpful but they gave me a direction to take my photography and helped me ask “why?” with everything I do. I am looking forward to this next year and hoping that I get the chance to go to the Northern Short Course in the spring.
